colorful bangles for women-Fan-tastic Vintage Damascene Bracelet

Likely bought as a souvenir when visiting Japan; a fabulous quality Damascene bracelet dating to the mid 20th century. Damascene is the inlay of 24 carat gold and silver into a darkly oxidised steel background, a traditional art originally used to decorate samurai swords and ceremonial articles. Each of the ten panels is beautifully decorated with a different finely executed design of flowers, pagodas, bamboo and butterflies. In gilded base metal, it measures 19cm around the wrist, in excellent vintage condition. The panels are 3cm wide.
